                  And Remember:  Anything that prevents you from peacefully enjoying your apartment—or that involves the co‑op board’s control over your right to possess the unit—is squarely within Housing Court’s “Landlord‑Tenant” jurisdiction. Which is VERY friendly to these types of complaints.

                    NYC seniors have strong civil rights, protected by city and state laws against age discrimination in housing, employment, and public spaces, with special protections like SCRIE for rent, access to free legal help via NYC Aging for issues from benefits to abuse, and rights to dignity, safety, and autonomy, all enforceable through NYC Human Rights Law and reporting mechanisms.  Key is knowing rights to dignity, quality care, autonomy, and freedom from abuse, with NYC Aging and other resources offering support

                    Key Areas of Protection & Rights

                    • Elder Abuse: Rights to protection from physical, financial, emotional abuse, neglect, with NYC Aging offering crisis intervention.
                    • Dignity & Autonomy: Right to respect, privacy, quality care, and self-decision-making.
                    • Where to Get Help
                      • NYC Aging (Dept. for the Aging): Free legal help for 60+ in housing, benefits, health, abuse, etc. (call 311).
                      • NYC Commission on Human Rights (CCHR): File discrimination complaints within one year.
                      • NY State Division of Human Rights: Handles discrimination claims.
                      • NY State Attorney General: Investigates patterns of discrimination

                    What to Do

                    1. Know Your Rights:           Be aware of protections in the NYCHRL.
                    2. Report Discrimination: File complaints with CCHR or DHR within time limits.

                        Any body else having issues with the new Key Fob System? I never gave them a photo because I’ve heard terrible things about their proffesionalism. Is there anything to do about not wanting to share my photo with these people?

                            Furthermore, realtors and their close relatives should not be included in the management system. However, if they wish to act as advocates for shareholders and renters, they may do so by agreeing to pay a commission to Parkcity. These funds can then be used for seasonal decorations and gardening, benefiting the community as a whole.

                              Regarding maintenance, services are often charged with additional fees, yet repairs remain unsatisfactory and come without warranty.

                              A better approach would be to request quotations from certified maintenance companies, select a reliable provider, and allow shareholders to deal directly with them when repairs are needed. All types of repairs and their costs should be listed clearly on a public board for transparency.

                              This is just one example of the issues at hand.

                                The current maintenance office is not functioning effectively.

                                We need an educated and well-qualified manager with strong organizational skills. Many employees are not performing their duties properly at the office.

                                  In the past, Parkcity management began with complimentary offers and sugar-coated promises. However, over the years, many managers have used their positions to build personal businesses and take undue advantage of shareholders.
