Perhaps call 311 and ask regarding elevator loud sounds and what can be done in this situation

I feel the same way as comment below… is there any way we can hold them accountable about the loud noises in the elevator? Loud clanging sound vibrates. I work from home and hear it a ton especially when there’s work in the building and during am and pm mon – fri?

Dirty water, elevators, breaking disrespectful, Property Manager so many new workers in the office waste of money supposedly we already had a elevator project and money was spent and again he’s going to spend our money again a maintenance increase. What’s going on? I smell thief. It’s time to get out it’s time to get rid of David. It’s time to change the manager. How many times and how many years are we gonna have maintenance increases in the past 23 years it was 5% and 6% now another 2.5% where is all our money going? Why is David stealing our money? Why are the board all puppets? Why does Esther live in 9707 and is a walking dummy who does not have money how is she paying her apartment and her Maintenance? I am wondering.

yeah for sure check for mold because thats the silent killer! and also if they destroy any walls make sure they do all precaution needed to abate and clean the lead dust, VERY VERY IMPORTANT!

Forgot to mention – if ceiling looks like it could fall – and that scares you – contact 311 and ask for a NYC  building inspector to look at your ceiling as you’re afraid of it collapsing. If the water was torrential, then you might want to consider an inspector for mold in your walls.

Cracks might form in the ceiling but I doubt anything will actually fall.  I haven’t seen it so that’s just my opinion. If your truly frightened – call 311.

To clarify, the co-op is obligated to repair any cracks, once the ceiling dries out, and they must paint the ceiling at no cost to you,

Everything inside the walls is the responsibility of the building and inside your unit is on you (specifically your neighbor for their negligence)

To the person with water damage. TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES before things dry up and look for watermarks where walls meet ceiling. Also look in closets and other rooms. Water travels.  Check for water damage to furniture and carpets. Hot water will thin out floor wax and the wax will be absorb by the carpets.  PICTURES of everything both close up and distance. They are your proof to make claim with insurance company.

re: comment below -Regarding laundry elevator banging noise ! YES!!!

9820 building -loud  banging sound – i can hear it in my apartment so that my walls  vibrate

besides I am not even mentioning how catwalk doors bang all the time ..

I need to let the building super  know yet again ASAP- they ignore my complaints and repair requests

please report this issue with elevators if it happens in other buildings
