If you’re looking for “free speech”, go out on a street corner and say whatever you want. Sites like this are designed with a specific area in mind and comments can be subject to removal of libelous statements, inappropriate language or topics not jermaine to that particular message board. I’ve seen sites like this disband when they’ve denigrated into ugly comments. Hopefully that doesn’t happen here.

How many permits for stove installations have been issued to our 6 buildings? Let’s look at the DOB website and find out. Hmmm….”under the table” seems fitting for a coop this size.
To Management we all see what you’re doing. It is disgusting that someone had to cancel their new stove order due to the installation fee while others don’t have to go through the process. Seems discriminatory to me. Instead of snitching on our Maintenance staff snitch on the wrong doings of this Management.

KeymasterNOTE TO AKAM MANAGEMENT
YOU ARE USING THIS WEBSITE TO ASK SHAREHOLDERS TO SPY ON MAINTENANCE MEN.
I’M SURE THEIR UNION WOULD OBJECT.
IF IT’S SO IMPORTANT TO YOU THEN YOU SHOULD ISSUE A “WRITTEN” NOTICE ASKING SHAREHOLDERS TO SPY ON THE MEN AND POST IT IN THE BUILDINGS SO THAT EVERYONE WILL HAVE PROOF OF YOUR UNDERHANDED (AND PROBABLE ILLEGAL) DEMANDS.

Yes let’s support the Supers and handymen that help us when in need. They are always kind and willing to help. It is obvious Management posting against them.
Why doesn’t management look after all these big dogs that are now living in our coop. There’s a huge Rottweiler in 98-05. Go fetch that one.

KeymasterNYC provides a complete pdf file of Master Plumbers (gives names, addresses, phone, license number and expiration date of their license)
It’s titled ACTIVE LICENSED MASTER PLUMBERS AS OF SEPTEMBER 2021.
Go online and type in
master-plumbers.pdf – NYC.gov
The same pdf information is available for licensed electricians

KeymasterIt’s $1800.00 because Akam wants you to use THEIR master plumber. Most sites specify using a Master Plumber or licensed professional. Akam cannot dictate that you must use THEIR agent. Akam is a paid management company – a contracted service company – they cannot mandate who you WE choose to use so long as the chosen contractor has a permit (can be done online) and shows their registered license to the office. The amount of the “professional’s” service charge should be negotiated between you and him/her.
The old Board had a scam about “testing” the paint you were going to use in your apartment. The office would send a guy to your apartment and take a paint sample and ask for $200.00 cash (no checks) and leave saying he would report his findings to the office. Never showed any I.D. Office never gave a copy of the “alleged” paint test. Anything like that look familiar??

If I see supers/porters doing side jobs I will support them unlike the bitter Karen who keeps posting to encourage tenants to snitch on them. It’s stupid idiots like these which create situations where we have to pay $1,800 for a stove installation. In fact, the poster may even be Lakhani, the undercover rat.

The liberals on here got smacked so hard with that truth and without having anything to respond with, they do what the democrats do and appeal to Ron to censor, suppress or cancel comments that challenge their demented views which are nothing but regurgitated government propaganda.
Moreover, yesterday, the NYS supreme court ruled that terminated unvaxxed workers must be reinstated to their jobs with backpay on the basis that the covid shot did not prevent the acquisition or spread of cv19. According to their “science” you have a 1% chance to die from covid but because the vaccine is still new and hasn’t been tested long term, there is no way to tell who would have an adverse reaction therefore placing your risk at 50% for the vaccine which is essentially 50x greater than the danger of covid itself. So for all you triple-vaxxed, triple-maskers, not only did you fail to use logic but you were simply guinea pigs for a mass government experiment of which multitudes of people both young and old are now dying from. Please eat well, sleep well and exercise and stop believing the shady government and media. Cheers.

Now the Management wants us shareholders to rat each other out along with the maintenance staff. If they didn’t charge such exorbitant fees like they do for a stove replacement shareholders wouldn’t have to do things “under the table”
Maybe it’s time for this Board to change Management!!Guest
Sorry that I took the bait and initially responded to that commenter’s remarks. I agree Ron that we should stick to Park City matters. Thanks.

I cancelled the purchase of stove with PC Richard a couple of weeks ago. I had no problem paying $363 for installation by a licensed plumber provided by PC Richard as our Management stipulated since I knew NY codes were stricter thanks to horrific gas explosions in Manhattan and the Bronx. But thanks to AKAM’s contract with Wasoff Plumbing the master plumbing fee is nearly $1800! As a result some stores (I’ve heard Home Depot is one) will sell and deliver appliances that require gas installation like stoves/dryers etc. but will not install in private coops and condos.
FYI-this is the email I got on Oct 11th- I did not even bother to reply:
My name is _____ and I work for Wasoff Plumbing in conjunction with P.C. Richard & Son.
We are the plumbing company P.C. Richard & Son subcontracts their plumbing work to within the five boroughs. I am writing to inform you that your management company Akam is requiring us to file a full permit with inspections with the Department of Buildings for your direct gas stove replacement.
There is an additional cost of $1745 via PayPal or $1695 via check payable to Wasoff Plumbing for us to proceed with the LAA paperwork. This is in addition to the delivery and installation fee charged by P.C. Richard. Also, additional charges may occur if we find that the valve and or pipes need to be extended or updated to meet the DOB SAFETY REQUIREMENTS AND CODES (This is determined upon delivery/installation date). This is the responsibility of the customer/tenant and not the building management nor P.C. Richard & Son.
Once we receive the signed copy of the non-refundable contract and payment, we file the permit with DOB and then set up a date and time for the installation to take place. Once the work is done, we notify DOB, and they schedule an inspection which they set up and someone must be present for them. If you wish to proceed with the process, please let me know asap.

I paid $1740 for my gas stove directly to PC Richards in May/2022 for installation- stove was $1900 .the plumbers replaced the gas valves with new NY STATE APPROVED gas valve ,it was filed with the City DOB , the next day Gas Inspector From DEPARTMENT OF BUILDINGS came and did a final inspection to approve the work.
i do not think anyone’s life is worth leas than $1740.

SCAM WARNING
I don’t want to distract from co-op business/complaints but there is a scam in our area where a company claims a “limited time only” for FOREVER postage stamps ordered online selling at half price. The scam has been going on since December 2021 and is openly advertised on the internet especially now with Holidays coming up.
According to USPS authorities, the real postage stamps will glow as it is scanned under a USPS UV light machine. The half price counterfeits will not. When counterfeits are detected the mail is confiscated and forwarded to the United States Postal Inspection Service.

The only offense is the cost of installation. Call the management office for confirmation and breakdown of the cost. Actually the Management should be transparent and informative so that we all know the costs involved. Put that on your next newsletter!

No offense but thos group also started quoting a bunch of numbers, like the 100 or so million dollar loan, that turned out to be bs.
Can the person claiming the 1800 fee walk through the break down?
